Calming and healing skincare and treatments
Your skin is the largest organ of the body and often the first to signal imbalance — long before deeper issues arise. Learning to listen to these signals is a powerful form of self-care.
Apply calming, healing, and nourishing skincare products, especially during the Waxing Moon when the skin is more receptive and absorbent.
Soothing Balm for Very Dry & Stressed Skin
This traditional, deeply nourishing balm is designed to support extremely dry, cracked, and irritated skin, including dry elbows, heels, lips, and areas prone to eczema or psoriasis. It helps strengthen the skin barrier, calm inflammation, and lock in moisture. Best applied regularly, especially during the Waxing Moon, when the skin absorbs and repairs more readily.
Make your own skin repair cream:
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp organic shea butter (deeply nourishing, anti-inflammatory)
- 2 tbsp cold-pressed olive oil or sweet almond oil
- 1 tbsp calendula oil (excellent for sensitive and inflamed skin)
- 1 tsp beeswax pellets (optional, for a firmer balm)
- 5 drops lavender essential oil (calming, healing)
- 3 drops chamomile or frankincense essential oil (optional, very soothing)
(If skin is extremely sensitive, omit essential oils entirely.)
Method
- Gently melt the shea butter, oil and beeswax (if using) in a heatproof bowl over a pan of hot water.
- Stir slowly until fully melted and combined.
- Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
- Add essential oils (if using) and stir well.
How to Use
- Apply once or twice daily to affected areas
- For cracked heels, elbows or very dry patches:
Apply generously in the evening, cover with cotton socks or gloves, and leave overnight - For lips: use a very small amount as a protective balm
- For eczema or psoriasis-prone areas: apply gently — do not rub aggressively
- Pour into a clean glass jar and allow to set.
- Consistency matters more than quantity.
Extra LWTM Tips
- Always apply to slightly damp skin to seal in moisture
- Avoid hot showers; choose lukewarm water
- Use fragrance-free soaps or cleansing oils
- Increase intake of healthy fats (olive oil, flaxseed, oily fish)
- Drink plenty of water — skin hydration starts from within
Gentle Reminder
This balm is supportive and soothing, not a medical cure.
If symptoms are severe, persistent, infected, or worsening, always consult a doctor or dermatologist.

Balancing Serum for Pigmentation & Uneven Skin Tone
Here is a gentle, brightening LWTM recipe to support uneven skin tone and reduce the appearance of extra pigmentation. It focuses on regulation, renewal and protection, not harsh bleaching — which is especially important for long-term skin health.
This light serum helps support skin renewal, calm inflammation, and encourage a more even complexion over time.
Best used consistently, ideally during the Waning Moon (for regulation and clearing) and continued gently into the Waxing Moon (for repair and renewal).
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp rosehip seed oil (supports skin regeneration and tone)
- 1 tbsp jojoba oil (balances and carries actives gently)
- 1 tsp evening primrose oil (excellent for hormonal pigmentation)
- 5 drops carrot seed essential oil (supports skin repair and tone)
- 3 drops frankincense essential oil (cell renewal and calming)
(For very sensitive skin, reduce essential oils by half or omit.)
Method
- Combine all oils in a clean dark glass dropper bottle.
- Gently roll the bottle between your hands to mix.
- Store away from heat and direct sunlight.
How to Use
- Apply 2–3 drops to clean, slightly damp skin
- Gently press into pigmented areas and face
- Use once daily in the evening
- Always use SPF during the day — pigmentation cannot improve without sun protection
Consistency over weeks and months is key.
Weekly Brightening Mask (Optional)
Gentle Brightening Yogurt Mask
- 1 tbsp plain natural yogurt
- 1 tsp raw honey
- ½ tsp turmeric (very small amount — stains!)
Apply thinly, leave for 5 minutes only, rinse well and moisturise.
LWTM Lifestyle Tips for Pigmentation
- Avoid harsh scrubs and aggressive exfoliation
- Protect skin from sun daily (even in winter)
- Support liver health with hydration and greens
- Be patient — pigmentation fades slowly but steadily with care
⚠️ Gentle Reminder
Pigmentation has many causes — sun exposure, hormones, inflammation, medication or genetics. This recipe supports skin balance, but persistent or worsening pigmentation should always be assessed by a qualified dermatologist.
