Gardener’s hand cream

Gardener’s hand cream

This is a great recipe that has been passed down to me. It is easy to make and can be kept in the potting shed or your kitchen. I call it gardener’s hand cream, but you can of course use it after any household task. It is actually a scrub and hand cream in one go. The Ingredients for a 50g jar (1 3/4 oz) 1 tbsp of ground rice (this is for removing dead skin cells) 1 tsp of pumice powder (invigorating and a more vigorous peel) 1 tbsp of almond oil ( very nourishing and anti-inflammatory oil) 1 tbsp of olive oil (soothes, protects and heals the skin, for example for little cuts) 10 drops of rosemary essential oil ( invigorating and perfect to improve circulation). You can get all of them in a pharmacy or online

How to make it:

1. Place all ingredients into a bowl and mix well 2. Spoon into a sterilized jar and keep the lid on, store in a cool place away from sunlight 3. Keep and use it for 3 months. How to apply and benefits: Massage well into your hands, making sure you scrub off the dirt. Rinse with warm water and pad dry. If your hands still feel dry, massage a drop or 2 of almond oil into your hands (olive oil or a normal hand cream works well, too). But sometimes you only need to pad your hands dry with a kitchen towel.  Happy Gardening
