Cleansing and toning beauty treatments

Cleansing and toning beauty treatments

Today is a great day for any beauty procedures that cleanse and tone your face and body. This could be a salt rub, a deep-cleansing mask, or body wrap or peeling. In short,  any application that tones and cleanses. It is closely related to our body brushing symbol.

The best time is naturally the Waning/New Moon. This is additional to the normal day-to-day cleansing routine, which continues regardless of what the moon cycle is doing.

Astringent and cleansing beauty treatments

Astringent and cleansing beauty treatments

Today is perfect for all kinds of astringent and cleansing beauty regimes.

Astringent beauty treatments/Toners:

Astringent beauty treatments often contain ingredients like witch hazel, salicylic acid, alcohol, and certain botanical extracts known for their astringent properties.

Astringent products are typically applied to the skin using cotton pads or balls after cleansing. Moist them before using, so they don’t absorb too much of the cleansing product. Gently wipe the astringent over their face, concentrating on areas where pores may be more noticeable or where excess oil tends to accumulate.

Astringents can help control oil production, which is beneficial for individuals with oily or combination skin.

    • They can give the skin a tighter and more toned appearance.
    • Astringents may contribute to the removal of residual traces of makeup or cleanser.
  1. Considerations:

    • While astringents can be effective for certain skin types, they may be too harsh for individuals with dry or sensitive skin. High-alcohol content astringents, in particular, can be drying.
    • It’s important to follow up with a moisturizer after using an astringent to maintain the skin’s balance.
    • Individuals with skin conditions such as rosacea or eczema should consult with a dermatologist before using astringent products.
  2. Alternative Options:

    • For those who find traditional astringents too harsh, there are milder toners and balancing products available that provide similar benefits without the potential for excessive drying.

Always patch-test new skincare products, especially if you have sensitive skin, to ensure they do not cause irritation or allergic reactions. Additionally, incorporating astringents into your skincare routine should be done in moderation to avoid over-drying the skin. If you have specific skin concerns, it’s advisable to consult with a skincare professional or dermatologist for personalized advice.

Peeling Masks

Peeling masks, also known as peel-off masks, are skincare products designed to be applied to the skin and then peeled off once they have dried. These masks come in various formulations and can serve multiple purposes, such as exfoliating, unclogging pores, and promoting a smoother complexion. Here’s a brief overview of how they typically work and some considerations:

  • Peeling masks are often marketed as providing a deep cleanse and promoting smoother, more radiant skin.
  • Some users appreciate the tactile sensation of peeling off the mask, believing it adds to the satisfaction of the skincare routine.
